Garden Tips from Kathy Renwald By: The HGTV Editorial Team

Perfect Placement

Create small areas of beautifully composed "pictures" or settings. Put together a stylish chair or bench, a fabulous, oversized pot with a gigantic tropical plant, and a small table on which to place a drink. Buffer this retreat area with plantings of ornamental grass for a sense of privacy and enclosure. Then sit down and enjoy it!

Put your best plants and you best designs where you can see them from a window of your home. There is nothing better than looking outdoors to a small water feature, some beautiful stone, or lush foliage.

Garden Design

Create good-looking paths and maintain them. Make them generous in size. If your paths are crisp, mayhem can be breaking out in the rest of your garden, and the eye will be diverted from it.
